Mount Eerie, photo from band's archiveIts main core is Phil Elverum (recorded before as The Microphones), who for many musical fans is a sort of a cult person. Phil is a great producer and multiinstrumentalist who appeared on the music scene in 1997 with his project The Microphones. It’s one of the most original projects of contemporary alternative music. After nine albums Phil decided to change the name to Mount Eerie in 2003 and after that he recorded and self-released two more albums: "No Flashlight": Songs of the Fulfilled Night (2005) and  Lost Wisdom (2008).

Mount Eerie concert at OFF Festival Club will be the first stop on his European tour promoting his latest double album „Wind’s Poem” (P.W. Elverum & Sun, 2009) recorded with many guests such as Karl Blau with whom Phil Elverum formed the project D+ (they performed at OFF Festival in 2009).

One of the guests on Elverum’s last album is also Nick Krgovich, the frontman and vocalist of No Kids. This avant-pop Canadian trio was playing with Elverum during his American tour last year, very often serving also as a live band for Mount Eerie. They will also appear at OFF Festival Club and the audience will have a chance to hear the songs from their debut album „Come Into My House” (Tomlab, 2008) and maybe some of the new ones from No Kids’ upcoming album.

The third artist at this edition of OFF Festival Club will be the American band Chain And The Gang who debuted last year with their album „Down with Liberty...Up with Chains!” (K Records).  The band might be rather unknown but their frontman Ian Svenonius has been playing together with such bands as The Nation of Ulysses, Cupid Car Club, The Make-Up and Weird War. The internet website Allmusic.com called him once „one of the greatest frontman in rock’n’roll of all time”.
